Stars of the City Program
Ottawa Tourism’s Stars of the City Customer Service Awards recognize the front line people who go to great lengths to make your visit in Canada’s Capital Region outstanding. Meet our stars
At the 2011 Gala held in October the Star of the City Award went to none other than our very own Paul Norris.
In February 2011, Paul received a call from a restaurant, saying a student who was staying at the Lord Elgin had been separated from his tour group. Paul went to the canal and sorted through the crowds to find the group and reunite the student.
Another one of our employees, Christopher Ward, received two Stars at the Gala and an honourable mention for helping a tour group from Australia, whose canoe had overturned, soaking their clothes, passports and electronics. He arranged for their clothes to be dried, contacted the embassy about their damaged passports, arranged for pictures on memory cards from their damaged cameras to be copied onto a DVD and gave them a walking tour of Ottawa on his own time.
